2023 Multifaith Calendar - Buidling Our Future Together
Proudly celebrating its 37th year, the 2023 Multifaith Calendars theme is 'Building Our Future Together.
Published by the Multifaith Action Society (MAS), the Multifaith Calendar (MFC) is a unique educational resource that facilitates understanding of religious occasions and festivals integral to a wide spectrum of cultural and faith communities.
The 12-month, full-sized wall Multifaith Calendar offers insight into the world's major faiths - a window that gives not only accurate information on each of the major holidays and festivals, including their dates and significance, but detailed historical information of these faiths and their relationship to time – giving us a better understanding of many varied cultures.
The MFC is also a carefully selected collection of art work. Each year a theme is chosen and artists from across North America as well as Internationally submit art for consideration. We are proud to say that these images are original works from a wide variety of visual artists.
Building Our Future Together...
The last few years have been challenging, yet we have persevered. We have conserved our energies, as needed, and have tapped into more inner strength than likely any of us knew we had. Our struggles have not been easy, but we have deepened our resolve and grown immeasurably in spite of—indeed, because of—them.
In this 2023 Multifaith Calendar, we celebrate the beautiful and necessary work of BUILDING OUR FUTURE TOGETHER. Read through and see how our artists offer their visions of hope, teamwork, community, and mutual support. We hope these will inspire you and bring you courage in the year ahead. Enjoy and share with your friends and co-workers!
The 2023 Multifaith Calendar once again features moons and months according to the Coast Salish First Nations. The Coast Salish is a group of ethnically and linguistically related indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast, living in British Columbia, Canada and the US states of Washington and Oregon. They are part of the Indigenous Peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast and speak one of the Salishan languages.

The theme ‘Building Our Future Together pushed me beyond creative limits, taking me deep into thought and reflection. How do you paint an image of what we have all lived through for the last two years and how do you paint the hope for the future. The message behind my artwork is meant to evoke hope as we move forward and it all begins with love.

Artist's Bio... Sherron Fairbairn
Growing up in Ontario, I fondly remember exploring and connecting to nature in the nearby woods, and being influenced by the amazing colour and artistry of the Disney Classics. In the 70s, I moved to British Columbia on the West Coast of Canada, and living by the ocean has expanded my visual world. My journey in art studies began in the 80s earning a diploma in Commercial Art and further exploring my education with Digital Print & Web Publishing. I currently reside in Qualicum Beach on beautiful Vancouver Island, Canada.
As an artist I am largely self-taught. I study the paths of artists I admire, and continue to expand my vision and upgrade my skills. Currently, my latest passion is painting art pieces outdoors (known as ‘plein air), with an expressive style influenced by Monet (the father of plein air). I am usually camera-ready to photograph something that has caught my eye which inspires me to paint my ‘love-of colour, and ‘love-of movement with brush strokes to my canvas.
